Here’s every Mayfield throw/run. Only a couple throws were off. The others were all placed very smart.

    The bad:
1st half Calloway – He had 2-3 drops of well thrown balls. He looked distracted or out of his depth.
O-Line – Both QB’s were on the run too much, and RB’s had nowhere to go. Our 1st team line looked like a 2nd team line, and our 2nd team line looked like absolute garbage.
Penalties – WAY too many. Sloppy sloppy sloppy
D-Line – Where was the pressure from our 1st team? Zilch. Where was the contain in the running game?

    The Good:
Tyrod Taylor – 5 for 5. Very accurate, very quick decisions. I’m excited to see him this season. He may be Alex Smith but a lot cheaper.
Baker Mayfield – As advertised, his passes were even better than advertised. Some absolute lasers and really accurate deep passes. No center exchange issues. Not a whole lot to criticize except that he didn’t get a lot of chances to make plays in structure because he was always evading penetrating D-linemen.
Hollywood Higgins – He’s grown a LOT. He has solidified his roster spot and is going to compete with Calloway for playing time. Has a great connection with Mayfield
2nd half Calloway – Almost like a different person came out to play. Always open, making amazing sideline catches and that nice TD catch. 1st half Calloway (AKA 3am weed/gun parts Calloway) can suck it.
Jarvis Landry – Hi I’m Jarvis. I’m open. If you throw the ball within 10 feet of me I’ll catch it. #BlessEm
David Njoku – Had a very rocky training camp, but man we saw the Njoku we hoped for in this game. He was completely double covered on his 1st TD, QB threw it up trusting Njoku would win the battle for the ball and he did. That’s good stuff. The 2nd TD was gravy.
Janus – Lived up to his ‘Special Teams Ace’ moniker. Totally blew guys up. It was fun to watch him.

Can a mod make a separate sub and call it Hollywood?

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

I will say this for the performance of Baker Mayfield: He was big enough for the moment.

Yeah yeah. preseason, against car washers, whatever other kinda shade you want to throw…….the dude played. Made some really crisp throws. Liver arm than I was anticipating. Made progressions. Made plays with his feet. Commanded the huddle. Looked like a leader. He belonged.

    Running game, stop sucking.

If Calloway can stop speeding around illegally with drugs and gun parts in his car because he’s an ignorant, ingrate fuck moron, he might actually be awesome. But as of right now I expect him to be nothing more than an ignorant, fuck moron so his performance is pretend as far as I’m concerned. It’s only a matter of time before he gets into an argument with a crip at a Taco Bell drive thru at 2 in the morning in Glenville and is arrested for being a savage fucking idiot.

I can’t remember what we’re paying Jarvis Landry offhand, but whatever it was was fucking worth it.

Njoku is a freak monster gangster. He’s going to be found guilty at least 9 times this season of strong armed robbery in the endzone.

Tyrod Taylor is not, I repeat NOT, a “game manager”. He’s a fucking QB that has total command already of this Todd Haley offense. What a pro. Best QB the Browns have had on the roster since Couch an it’s not even close.

Myles Garret is going to get 20 sacks this year. (Okay, even I’ll admit that’s a stretch, but I said it).

everyone else covered all the good stuff.

The OL has not jelled and wasn’t getting any push at all in the run game. I like 2 of the starters for the long haul on the OL Bitonio and Zeitler. The rook is an unknown and the rest are other teams backups the Browns sing to start because that who they could get.

Next spring I would mind spending the 1st 2 or 3 draft selections of the Browns on offensive line.

For the nay sayers that don’t like this idea. The team doesn’t have any other holes IMO.

I was wondering if WR might be one. But if you told me the top WR on opening day were Landry Callaway and higgins. I’d be good with that. Plus there is a possibility of Gordon being back (I’ll believe when I see it) and possibly of adding Dez Bryant as well.

With the OL remember two things.

    1. Brand new scheme

    2. Brand new OC

    3. It takes time to gel.

Haley’s offense is about reducing hits on the QB. They’ll need some real games to gel, I’m faithful it’ll get into the top half of the NFL

I liked the way both Tyrod and Baker operated Coach Haley’s offense Baker showed both touch and arm strength as well as an understanding of the concepts of the offense. Ward looked like a real CB in fact the whole secondary looked faster. Peppers is back in his natural position and it showed the line backing corps did their jobs I hope the d- line gets more pressure in game #2.
The o- line needs time to get the run game down but was stellar in pass protection. As for the WR corps Higgins and Laundry both looked solid and if Calloway gets his off field stuff together then we’ll survive until Gorden gets back. and Njoku is what we’d hoped for when we took him in the first.
Say what you will but i’m giving Sashi his due for his last draft for us Garrett, Peppers, and Njoku all look like yr 2 for them will bring good things to this team.

I must say I am impressed with Haley so far. Team looks organized. Not like a normal loser Hue offense.

I have to agree with what shooter said. Pretty much spot on. Not sure what the deal with the run game is…. But it is definitely concerning.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.
