Impossible to overcome that many fake penaltiesThere were a couple bad calls, but when your left tackle is ejected for kicking people in the head shortly after your star player is almost ejected for punching oponents in the face, you certainly look the part of a team who are about to set a record for penalties. We deserved it.
I don’t want to hear any of this “they didn’t cause us to lose by 30 BS,” because they definitely caused us to lose.
Literally handed out first downs on one drive to gift the Titans 7 points.
Called a blind side block to wipe out a good gain by OBJ, then IGNORED THE SAME BLOCK on Henry’s long TD. The same block. That’s a 10 point swing right there.
Apparently at one point, a ref told DL Lawrence “get the fuck out of the way.” Lawrence’s reply: “fuck you.” Ref: unsportsmanlike, 15 yard penalty.
Now, we didn’t help anything, we lost our cool and committed real penalties. Baker started forcing things, which led to mistakes. And Tennessee, a team built to play with the lead, took advantage and everything snowballed.
But don’t lose sight of the fact that it was a 22-13 game at the start of he 4th with the Browns driving.
I’m mad at the refs too, but I don’t blame them for the loss.
Our players that took the field and absolutely stunk it up bear the responsibility for this loss. Them and the coaches. The people who wear brown and orange are to blame. They could have changed the outcome.
Not all the calls were bad by the refs. Yes there were a few on Tennessee that were missed. We got hosed no doubt.
But the browns still didnt play well. It wasn’t poor play calling. It wasn’t poor defensive schemes. It was just bad play, stupid penalties, and guys getting beat.
Makes you question their off season practices. Really makes you wonder if guys should have played more preseason.
Tennessee is not very good. Browns played terrible.
