IceKeymasterI want to point out that when Kessler was taken out and ‘evaluated for a concussion’ his response was awesome. He threw a fit on the bench because he was being forced not to play when he felt fine. He was cursing out the league doctor and was almost ready to punch the guy (as were the rest of us).

ShooterModeratorAt this point I’m just of the opinion that all Browns QB’s automatically start the game concussed.
Amiwrong?

IceKeymasterHe’s still able to play after 4 quarters, so that’s improvement.

Well I will say it was kind of “Frye Like” – First 3 plays – Delay of Game, 2 Fumbles. The only thing that would have made him Charlie Frye was if he had a false start and a time out somewhere in there.

Did you watch th game?
The delay of game was Hue Jackson’s fault for coming out in that bizarre formation with lineman in the WR areas where he then calls them back in to a normal formation. That’s a hell of a lot of responsibility for a 3rd round rookie on drive #1.
Fumble #1 – could’ve been on Grecco – our new center due to injury,
Fumble #2 – on him for holding it too long.
So the next 30 minutes we had the ball? No comment?

Did he do anything bad? Meh, not really.
Did he do anything that gives me confidence that he can be a legitimate starting QB for us going forward. Not really.
1 game is nowhere near enough to make any kind of realistic judgement of his abilities (unless you’re Brandon Weeden) but the reality is this is a bottom line business, and the bottom line is drives need to end in TD’s and he didn’t do that.
When you’re constantly settling for field goals, especially with our kicker situation, all you’re going to do is add numbers to the loss column.

soupParticipantGood points. On the flip side the 3 FG missed were makeable. Take away the defensive TD and that’s 26 points on offense.
They played it right meaning his job was to not lose. He threw one too many wobbly passes for my long term taste, but overall I thought he faired nicely. I saw a very interesting stat, in aimed passes (meaning not throw aways) he was 81% accurate overall. I’ll try and find that article. It was one of the tops in the NFL.
