GABrownsFanParticipantMy only hope is Dorsey doesn’t go off the rails and allow a 3-4 D.
Agree.
I can’t even begin to think where we go. My hope is it a a new, young guy and we catch our McVay[/quote]
Dorsey probably already knows who his top choice is, or at least has his choices narrowed down to a very small list.
FWIW, I heard Benjamin Albright on a podcast yesterday. Thinks McCarthy will be at the top of this list, no shot at Lincoln Riley or John Harbaugh, Williams was never going to get serious consideration for the permanant HC job, and Matt Campbell is a fallback option.
Thought that Arians was a possibility as well (how you doing, Ice?), but if they went that route, they’d have to have a succession plan in place, as Arians would likely only coach 3 to 4 years.
Also thinks we’re a lock for the playoffs next year.

ShooterModeratorI think there’s one thing that’s been lost in all the talk of the next coach: Legitimate NFL coaches are not only being considered for this, but they’re also interested in the job.
It wasn’t that long ago at all when that wasn’t the case. That we were a complete joke of a franchise from top to bottom. When we begged and pleaded with people and were rebuffed, scoffingly, until we were reduced to handing the job over to Mike Pettine.
What a difference it is to have a reputable and competent front office and a bright nucleus of young talent on both sides of the ball that is attractive to established NFL coaches.
I feel good about the future.
