One of the dumbest questions I have ever seen you ask. Of course you do it. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Now one gives up two 1st round picks for a DE/LB, that’s bonafied QB draft strategy there. You absolutely take it. Not even a question, especially if you get the second pick and know you can grab Garrett. Hell, even if they take Garrett, so what!? Would be an absolute coup. Let’s hope it happens!

You totally misread my question, lol. I said “CAN WE.” Not “should we.”

Without knowing who the new GM and Head Coach are going to be, it’s impossible to know. When I look at what the Rams got from Washington for RG3, I’d say it’s definitely possible if they fall in love with a QB as the draft process (Sr. Day, combine, pro days) plays out. Will they? Hard to say with the questions surrounding the current crop of QBs.

My gut says no. We (supposedly) have an astronomical grade on Myles Garrett. We are in desperate need of pass rushers and run stoppers. Despite his being a generational talent, many sites are already projecting us to take Jonathan Allen because we’re afraid of the fact that Garrett will have to transition from DE to LB in our 3-4 and they believe we’d prefer to bet on the “sure thing”.

That said, do I think Trubisky is a better prospect than RG3 was coming out in 2012? I wouldn’t think you were crazy if you thought so. Would the 49ers be willing to bet against us if we would willingly trade out of the #1 spot for a Franchise QB being we need one as well? I think our trade with the Eagles sets a precedent that makes that scenario plausible.

If I was the 49ers though, I’d stand firm at number 2 and let the chips fall where they may. Neither the 49ers or the Browns are a player (even a QB, and you know my opinion on the importance of QBs) away from being a playoff contender in a year. Next Year’s QB crop, which will likely include Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, Jake Browning and potentially several possible candidates from this years draft that don’t declare, I can’t imagine there would be enough incentive to make this trade.

I’d stand pay too, however new regimes are stuck on “faces of the franchise” and want QBS

You know who is more desperate than a new regime looking for a face of the franchise? A regime in its second year of a rebuild that still doesn’t have a face of the franchise. Just sayin…
